How much can a short stacker make?

With our simple system you should be able to beat games up to the $50NL level for about four big blinds per 100 hands. The system is simple enough that most people have no problem playing eight or more tables, with some people playing as many as sixteen tables at once. If we assume eight tables and seventy five hands per hour at each table, you will see 600 hands per hour.

This comes out to 24 big blinds per hour in winnings. This is only $12 per hour in winnings, but most short stackers also have rakeback and this adds around $8 per hour at eight tables. $20 per hour isn’t bad for a simple system, and as you add more tables and study the game to pick up more skill so that you can make adjustments to make yourself more profitable. Many of the better short stackers make more than $50 per hour in winnings.

If you are able to short stack even six tables of $1/2 no-limit, which is easily doable with a few modifications of our system or by purchasing one of the more complicated systems from places like shortsystem.com or shortstackrevolution.com, your rakeback should be around $20 per hour. Making $20 per hour while breaking even isn’t bad at all, and you’ll pile up the player points on whatever site you are playing and earn yourself some rewards too. With even 2 big blinds per 100 hands in winnings added to that, you will earn almost $20 per hour in winnings. Now with player rewards programs you are earning around $40 per hour with a bankroll of less than $1,500. Making this much money with such a small bankroll is unheard of in most other forms of poker.

We highly recommend our pals at pokerwhip.com for rakeback, or you can just sign up with Lock Poker at 35% rakeback through this link and they pay you automatically every week. Lock is a great site for short stacking (it’s where we play most of the time ourselves) and the rakeback percentage is awesome. Using our sign up link also guarantees you the maximum available bonus.

If you have more bankroll or income concerns, we recommend Poker Bankroll Management Tools.
